I love Lily Allen in that first picture - The image of her personality, I think :) the second picture I found in one of my photo folders. It's so beautiful. I might try something more serious and toned down like this some day lol
I am so obsessed with this duo. Alexa's outfits stun me everytime.
A parting gift right there :) [source: the fashion spot]
School is being a mean and PMSy old woman lately, so I haven't been able to hang around lately. Chemistry, Physics, Maths and french tests next week, plus a short German Project presentation and my IB choices. Then monday after that, FOUR major dues, including German presentation, French presentation, English 1984 test and Biology common assessment. Pfffft.
So what with all the school and studying a nerd, I've been dressing very simply lately. Just big comfy t-shirts and jeans with the odd scarf or accessory. Plus, absolute minimal makeup: moisturizing foundation, mascara and lipgloss (So I haven't had any time to experiment with colors and trends).
Puma T-shirt, soft blue jeans and a necklace from h&m.
the scarf is my mom's
I love before and after makeover pictures with models. It's just so inspiring to see what makeup can do to your face and how it can change your look in just a couple of minutes. This month, I've decided to try out a couple of trend makeup looks and see which one i can adapt as a signature spring look.
The House of Holland shots with Agyness Deyn are so fun and inspiring! I want black and white polka dot wallpaper now too. Plus, the photography of the two separate shots are amazing. I want to be able to take pictures like that too! Too bad the camera needed to take pics like that would take me years and years and years to save up (I need a job). That whole white blonde/red lips look suits Aggy perfectly. When i have really really really red lipstick on, my sister says i look like Alice Cullen after a midnight snack. Ah well.
Weather here's been pretty queer. It's sunny and springy and lovely one moment, and then the next its gray and cold and snowing hand-sized snowflakes. Crazy. This puts me in a bit of a dilemma since I have no clue what to wear. I've been trying to layer a lot, since I can just take some off if it's too cold, but its pretty tiresome. Skirts are kind of out of the question because it's so damn cold. What I'd give for a normal spring with flowers and sun and a cool breeze?
I tried a different tactic the other day, and went super simple with a gray comfy t-shirt from Puma, my favourite jeans and a scarf draped around. Surprisingly, tons of people commented upon it (they were good comments too!). Apparently, everyone is not used to me wearing something simple for once...
This picture was inspired by a photo I saw on Deviantart (I highly recommend checking that website out. It's full of art and photographs created by mostly young artists. It's so inspirational). I set my camera on selftimer, took one picture of my hands cupping and then one of me doing that pose. Then I just put them together with the amazing Photoshop. A fun and interesting process!
I love these creations. They really reflect on the character on their designer. Victoria Beckham has such a simple, classy and eternal style. Like with Laura Bennett from Project Runway, I could imagine Victoria wearing each other these creations - as would anyone, I'm sure!
I've been very unfocused lately, never being able to sit down and quietly do something for a long period of time. And that's not good, because I've got quite a few assessments coming up. I've been very attached to my collage journals for fashion and makeup. They're becoming rather fat.
I've finally reached this stage where I'm used to my haircut and know what kind of styling makes it look better. When I first got it cut (short layered style and bangs), i was in a constant state of misery, because i knew i looked complete crap. My bangs were way short, and the too-many layers made my hair look totally flat. Now although I'm still not totally content with it, i know how to play around with it and go a little crazy. I watched quite a few youtube videos on hair styling and tips. They really helped.
Hair styling tips that worked:
1. If you side swept bangs, after wash, comb it to the opposite side where it usually sweeps. When it dries, you can comb it back to the normal side. This gives it a more flowy texture and more volume. Plus, it has this soft curve.
2. Use curls to provide volume. If you have layers, clip up the shortest layer (not too much). Use a flat iron or curling iron (or even braids) to curl/wave a couple of layers below the top ones, concentrating around the face area. When you're finished, simply unclip the top layers and comb through everything. The hair around your face area should be more poofy. (btw this works for me, because it makes my round face look slimmer).
I finished all my work and had nothing else to do, so i created a couple of outfits. I wish i could have all these gorgeous outfit pieces. They're all so fun and interesting to work with. But either a) i can't afford them or b) they don't sell here. I hate living in an non-US-or-UK-or-english-speaking area.
Anyway, tell me what you think about these 4 outfits. Personally, i think i'd love to wear all four, but might get some weird looks, because people here are so unimaginative and boring. Have a great one!
Latest Love: Colored leggings! They really brighten up my neutral colored outfits. I'm planning on getting some more in electric blue, hot pink and some patterny ones.
My Outfit Inspirations folder is jampacked with inspiring outfit photos, so I thought I'd share a couple of my favourites.
I really love Camille's simple and chic style. Almost makes me want to become less complicated lol. My outdoor wear style is more like the photo on the right. The layering and the leggings go wonderfully together.
I love this girl's style! Her color combinations and accessorizing is so genius. I need an oversize blazer like that (but maybe in another color)
Three of my top celebrity inspirations, Alexa Chung, Ashley Olsen and Mary Kate Olsen. They just never ever go wrong.
I so need a Polaroid. Everything ends up looking amazing!
Chloe Sevigny is seriously amazing. I love how her styling is always so simple. Her minimal makeup is also so chic - her long dark lashes and bright red matte lips. On me, the look is just ridiculous. I look like I've just had a bottle of blood or something! Eww. I might try it this weekend, on my friend's party. Since, you know, it'll be dark and no one will see anyway lol.
I simply just love vintage-looking or pretty patterny wallpaper. They're so nice to take photos with. My room has pink walls, but the lighting sucks so the photos suck.
