

My bangs give the time of these photos away: these are some old shots from 2010 that I found. My childhood was dominated by the bowl cut (it was acceptable in the 90s) and my teenage years consisted of typical Chinese-style mushroom cuts ("This is totally popular in Korea!" I was told), so the fact that I now have long-ish hair without too many layers is a miracle.

I love, love that second photo of you, Vicky. Haha I've totally had that super-layered haircut + bangs. Korean hair salons never wanted to give me short hairdos because they said I had a round face. Look at me with a bob now! :P

i think ever korean baby boy/girl had a bowl cut! i will most definitely give my kid one just to carry on the tradition :)
