Julia just got back from her graduation Eurotrip, so we sat down for some coffee and a big brainstorming sesh...she'll be helping me out at KNEON as arts features editor based in London, since she's starting her studies at CSM as of september. Anyway, I finally had my dslr with me (pretty rare nowadays, because walking around Vienna in this heat is - for what of a better word - euuuh) so I took some snaps to show you what planning for KNEON looks like!
1. Getting inspired by the Lab Magazine
2. Food that will hopefully help our thought
3. Julia's new Arty ring that she got in Paris. soo gorgeous.
Okay, so I must admit, the recent visitor boom has shocked me - once again - into realizing that this blog is very very public. But I want to say: welcome new followers! And welcome new readers! How do you like my chinese-hippie fortune teller look of yesterday? I'm obsessed with this yay-but-dangerously-nay long skirt, since it's covering all my nighttime scar trophies that I wear not so proudly on my knees. You know that whole omg-bleeding-knees-so-hipsterz thing? Yeah, i never got that. Blood is Bluud.
Styling, Raffaela Loebl (Erelle)
Model, Kira @ Tempodemols
We braved the fierce sun and killer heat last week and did a shoot on a swimming pool rooftop. The model Kira was sweet 16, a stunning girl who was perfect for the shoot. Raffaela also pulled some great pieces from the amazing designers Mark & Julia. Full results out in the August (PRINT!!!) issue of KNEON, but I'll post up some previews and outtakes here soon ;) hope you all have a good weekend!
On tuesday, Xixi and I headed to Meierei in Stadtpark for some milkshakes and icecream before heading to the Nevertheless Magazine presentation. There we also saw the lovely girls who organize Feschmarkt. And I randomly bumped into an old family friend of my dad's AND my new favourite drink: Hugo. Thanks and congrats Verena + Peter for the wonderful night!
I was walking down one of the smaller roads off the 6th district the other day, and found this Camille Boyer concept store from Paris. The size is small, but the carefully selection pieces are exquisite and really beautiful all together. I've been looking around for more and more of these smaller stores, so if you know any in Vienna, please let me know :)
Remember the elaborate styling session I mentioned in the last post? I gave Lulu free creative reign over what she could costume me up as, and we ended up playing with her plummed vintage cape that she got at a theatre vintage store, with golden accessories that made me feel like a royal bird-pirate.
On another note, after watching The Hunger Games and absolutely loving it and watching it three times over (yeah, three...obsession doesn't even begin to describe it), I started reading the books. And I swear I haven't been this addicted to a series since Harry Potter!!! Twilight was also good before the movie hype started, all these haters showed up, which dragged the name of the book down. So if I even mention Twilight, people will assume I'm on the Bieber-Cyrus team, which is not necessarily untrue, since I loved her movie The Last Song (okay, so Liam Hemsworth did kind of help that part) and Bieber actually makes some decent music now... but anyway.
THE HUNGER GAMES. I've power-read my way through two books now, waiting for the third to arrive. And they are just amazing. Everything is perfect, the characters are so realistic, and I have this odd wish that I could be running around in the wilderness doing necessary things that help my mortality rather than worry about certain things, which probably aren't that significant/important when you look at the bigger picture.
Meet my lovely friend, Lulu, and her adorable puppy. I shot some photos of her for a KNEON feature about her shoeline. I get so inspired when I find and get to know young creatives doing things out of the ordinary and with so much passion and confidence - makes me feel motivated to keep on power-walking around Vienna doing my shizniz!
And my Glossy box for June has arrived! I received two prior to this one already, but things have been super busy since I got back to Vienna so here's the first peek. It's a really sweet idea, where you sign up to receive monthly samples of new and innovative beauty products. The price is worth all the variety that is inside, plus you get to really reach outside your comfort zone and test around in the comforts in your home. I'll do a more in depth review next week.
Anyway, hope you are all having a good week! Kisses.
Zara sweater, American Apparel skirt, Wolff tights, Bally loafers, Balloon face
I met up with Lulu yesterday, and we ended up with a little shoot in the park (not this one - something a bit more dramatic!). She will be moving to Milan in the fall to study fashion, and I will be moving as well, so we've decided we should do more projects this summer.
My friend DC just signed to an agency in Vienna, so we took some photos for her portfolio. Isn't she a stunner? I'm currently putting together a new website for my photos, since i reached my upload limit on cargo, and i would prefer my own domain. I'll keep you updated! :)
